Class Details

 

Paverpol is reliable and easy to work so it fits well with beginner students as well as advanced artists.  I truly believe that anyone can do this. Levels of creativity do not matter as each piece is a personal masterpiece with one-on-one instruction and the student is guaranteed to discover their ‘artist within’. 

 

 

Introductory Level 

 

In this class you will learn the basics, building a form from a wire frame and aluminum foil. You will use t-shirt material to dip in liquid “paverpol”, wrapping and dressing the form. These sculptures will be sitting and one colour. They can be female, male, angels, fairies. How they sit and how they are dressed can vary on your choice.  After curing this can go outside summer and winter. No need to bring it indoors.

 

Participants are required to bring:

     one white  100% cotton t-shirt,  with no decals or writing,

     a roll of tinfoil

     lunch

 

     All other materials will be supplied.

Intermediate level

     * Pre-requisite - Introduction Class

In this class you will expand your techniques. You will learn standing structure, how to use “wrappers”, & “paverplast” to make a smoother body. Also how to use the “transparent paverpol” to give your piece two colors.

 

Participants are required to bring:

• 1 roll of aluminum foil

• Piece of natural material about 12” x 12”

• Students are encouraged to bring embellishments (roots, stones, broaches, natural fabric, etc.) All other materials will be supplied.

Advanced level 

Pre- requisite - Intermediate Class

You will learn different structure, how to mix “pavercolors”, how to combine colors., how to use “stockinette” and/or “relief decoration”.

 

Participants are required to bring:

• 1 roll aluminum foil

Specialty Classes

*Prerequisite - Advanced Class

Specialty classes will include but are not limited to using mask and canvas, embellishments, various natural fabrics, art stone, sands among other things and YOUR OWN IDEAS. More emphasis will be placed on the anatomy of a piece.  You may want to bring your choice of natural fabrics and some personal choice embellishments.

Three Foot Figure

         In the three foot doll class you will learn how to use non-stretch material. You will work on a concrete base using threaded rods.

 

           Participants are required to bring:

• 100 foot roll of aluminum  foil, 

• 100% cotton twin bed sheet, preferably white or cream.

Heron Workshop

                 *Pre-requisite - Introduction Class

            You will build a 4.5 ft heron on a concrete base using wire, styrofoam, aluminum foil and t-shirts.

       

            Participants are required to bring:

• 100ft of aluminum foil

•  2 – 100% cotton t-shirts could be white, grey, blue, navy or black.
